Heifer International is an organization that raises money to purchase farm animals. A farm animal is given to a family living in poverty. When that animal gives birth, the family donates the offspring to other families living in poverty. It goes on and on. It's about helping people lift themselves up out of poverty and improving lives.

At Christ Lutheran Church we are committed to supporting Heifer, International. Our latest fundraiser was the brainchild of local artist, Jenny Babyar. She created a wall sized mural consisting of squares depicting familes and children here and abroad. The mural began as a pencil drawing on a wall. Each square was labeled with a price tag. When enough money was raised to "buy" a square, Jenny would color the square by painting it. This fundraising effort was titled: Color Our World. The goal was to earn $5,000 to donate to Heifer, International. In November we reached that goal, and a check was presented to Heifer, International.
