Dupage River Sweep Saturday,
May 18th 9:00am to Noon
Come one, come all! Help clean up our local waterways! The DuPage River Sweep will be held Saturday, May 18th from 9 am til noon, and we need your help. The Conservation Foundation has been organizing the river sweep for over 20 years and it has grown into a countywide event with crews helping at multiple locations throughout DuPage County. The purpose of the river sweep is to encourage volunteers to help "sweep our rivers clean" by picking up debris in and along the local waterways and restoring nearby land back to its natural state. More than 8,800 volunteers have removed nearly 220 tons of garbage from DuPage County streams since 1991. In the past our participants Middle Schoolers. This year everyone is invited to sweep the river clean. All ages are welcome!
How can you help? Contact the church office. Volunteers are encouraged to provide their own rakes and shovels. Garbage bags will be provided. Be sure to wear clothes that can get dirty! Sign up by May 12th to make a positive change in God's creation.
To Serve God is to Serve Others
Jesus Christ taught that to serve Him is to serve others:
"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" (Matt 25:45).
